London's Science Museum, Design Platform Japan and a host of others are presenting a rather different take on the cultural aspects of state-of-the-art automobiles, including kei cars, in a clever exhibition that started on November 29, 2008.

With the completion of a new 194 MW wind farm off the coast of Skegness, Lincolnshire the United Kingdom has overtaken Denmark to claim the offshore wind power capacity crown. The new installation brings the UK’s total offshore wind capacity to 590 MW, which is approximately enough electric generating capacity for 300,000 homes.

The UK's Guardian newspaper has caught our attention before with some stunning sustainability-oriented slideshows, including this challenge to Cute Overload. Their latest effort, in conjunction with TreeHugger favorites Inhabitat, is an impressive collection of some of the most dramatic and iconic images in sustainable architectue. Included are the Oakland Cathedral of Christ of Light which, appropriately enough, uses natural daylighting to maximum effect.

Tomorrow in London the Islamic Foundation for Ecology and Environmental Sciences (IFEES) will launch a Muslim Green Guide to Reducing Climate Change at the Islamic Cultural Centre and the London Central Mosque. The 20-page guide explains the impact of climate change using Islamic references and encourages Muslims conserve water, heating, electricity, and consider public transport.

One of the largest wind farms in development, onshore or offshore, the 1 gigawatt London Array just got one step closer to reality. Abu Dhabi’s Masdar— of self-proclaimed zero carbon city and alternative energy investment fund fame—just announced that it has acquired a 20% stake in the project.
