Green Suggestions for Halloween

Halloween! I love it. The costumes, the candy, the cooler weather, the parties, the decorations and of course, carving pumpkins - a plethora of fun for all ages.
Hmmm…all that spooky fun can cause a lot of consumption and waste. Chad and I found some ways to manage our haunting excesses, and I’m certain we could always be doing more.

Charleston Green Fair Roundup

I’m still a little blown away by what went down yesterday at the 2008 Charleston Green Fair. I mean, 1st Annual? You would have thought it was the 10th annual. In short, it was an amazing event, and every volunteer, exhibitor, vendor, and Charleston resident should be proud.
I had a great time talking to people at our booth. The interactive recycling game was a big hit again, and I kept getting a lot of the same questions:

Park(ing) Day Inspiration on Market Street

By the time I made it downtown, the Park(ing) Day extravaganza was packing out. The sod was being rolled up, and the plants hauled away. It was only 3:30! Anyway, it looked awesome - several patches of grassy park were there, but this massive installation by Design Works was loved the camera.

We're Back

Summer conference season is over, classes are back in session and the Green Business Networking events are coming soon. This year the events will be held on Fridays, the second Friday of each month to be exact. They will run from 4:30 to 6:30. So once a month get your weekend started by networking with others interested in helping businesses being more environmentally friendly, starting new green businesses, finding employees/employment, and generating networking contacts here in Charleston and the Lowcountry.

Go Green Night This Friday!

If you're looking for something to do and to meet like-minded people (business and otherwise) and you enjoy outdoors and/or soccer, then check out this month's Green Drinks event.

Upcoming Events

Just a reminder that the next event will be this coming Monday. Same time, same place (4:30-7:00 at the Tate Center). The focus will be on green building, but you are all free to discuss whatever you want of course.
